A Salesperson Should Focus On The Happy Ending

By Steve Martinez
The movie, “The Breakup” is a
salesman’s nightmare. Why, because no one wins! In sales, our goal is
for everyone to have a happy ending. A salesman’s ending is clearly
important. In the end, we want the customer to release a mammoth smile
of contentment. This is what’s missing in the breakup movie. As a
salesperson, I live in a world where I can make a difference in the
lives of my clients.
Too often salespeople live in the
moment of a sale and don’t look to the ending. When I go to a movie, I
go there for a happy ending. When I visit with a client, I meet with
them for the same reason. If I can’t help the customer reach their
goals, I won’t be happy. If they don’t reach their goals, they won’t be
happy.
Getting There Is Half The Fun
Salespeople have the best job in the
world. When a salesperson does their job right, everyone wins and
business moves forward. It is the chase of a happy ending that drives
the way we pursue a client. What we discover during our chase is what we
use to wrap up our ending. If our story is right, the customer will
enjoy the picture of fulfillment we share with them. Next time you are
working with client, think of the ending. Make it a happy one. Make
everyone smile. Outside sales is a great career for people who like
happy endings.
If you want a happy ending in your
business, we should talk. Our automated selling systems could be just
the impact sales tool you need. The only way to discover this, is with
an investment of time, contact me today.
